The minority aim for fatFIRE, where the goal is to increase income in order to be able to live a more affluent life in retirement. Which way will you FIRE?
Smelling Freedom: Work life balance is important at every stage of your life. However once you reach your forties it takes on a new importance. Research has shown that working more than 30 hours a week is bad for your cognitive functioning. That’s a strong argument for FIRE or at least partial retirement once one reaches middle age!
