London FI April Meetup: A toolkit for DIY investing
5th April 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

One of the cornerstones of Financial Independence is effective investing. Yet many people find it intimidating and so they struggle to get started, missing out on valuable time in the market.
In this month’s meetup, we’ll give you the tools to be a more effective DIY investor. We’ll start with a theoretical framework for investing and also cover some practical topics, like:
* different approaches to investing
* how to choose ETFs
* understanding market cycles
* tax reduction strategies
We’re lucky to have a very knowledgeable co-host (although he strongly denies it!) to help steer us through this topic.
Ric M. fired 3 years ago and currently lives in the French Riviera (because why not!). He worked for 25 years in Finance for large corporations, the last 10 of which as a Financial Director. He has over 25 years’ experience as an individual investor in the stock market, surviving the Dotcom bubble, the 2008 Financial Crisis, and the Covid crash – and he’s optimistic about getting through the current crisis too.
This is a topic we’ve been promising to talk about for many months now, so book your spot asap. Join us to learn something new, share your own experiences, and meet people at difference stages of the FI journey!
(As always, please remember that the information presented in our meetups reflects personal experience and is NOT intended to be taken as financial advice.)
